Re: the amendment of prostitution law currently being proposed, the recent proposal driven by emotion without relevant research by Harriet Harman Your Deputy Leader will without doubt Drive Prostitution Underground spreading disease increasing NHS costs and tax evasion.
Do The Research Before Making Decisions. Re: the proposed visit by Vernon Coaker - Under-Secretary of State and Junior Womans Minister Barbara Follett to Sweden to see the situation there: where prostitution has been legalised.
Why should government be for legalisation? Well the government has been Pimping Prostitution By Stealth for years with an endless supply of children from children's homes and foster care, ( over 50% ) in to child prostitution + heavy fines for street and brothel prostitution, ( many brothels are V.A.T. registered ). Please stop children entering in to prostitution, integrate state seized children in to boarding schools, not enough boarding schools? Build some more! Please do prostitution honestly: legalise and license it. Please do not increase this dishonest stealth tax collection method.
Kill Street Prostitution! By fining kerb crawlers 1000 pounds and confiscating drivers cars and selling them: more money to the treasury. Clean up, revitalise the red light districts. Confiscate property and heavily fine people, and imprison people for promoting any illegal prostitution.
I have sent a copy of this letter and proposals for the legalisation of prostitution to the two major private equity finance raising organisations in this country BVCA British Venture Capital Association. - and - BBAA British Business Angels Association. These two associations are probably in competition, a bit like labour and Conservative. Perhaps they can come together on this one, raise the finance, and open a thousand new purpose built government controlled licensed and legally run brothels in the UK.
You can legally collect the tax, cut out organised crime, outlaw all other brothels that do not conform to the governments legal criterion. If the two venture capital organisations above do not support this project, there are thousands of big players globally running away from banks: that will support it.

Tonight in this country a professional person will break the law, this could be a barrister, a Judge, a police officer, or a brain surgeon. This person if discovered and prosecuted will lose his credibility, possibly his employment: and very likely his marriage partner. This person will be searching to satisfy his sexual desire, either kerb crawling for a prostitute: or using a prostitute in a brothel masquerading as a massage parlour, or an escort agency, the boy has got to have it !!!
Many of these brothels that have sprung up in the last few years are
connected to either petty, serious, or organised crime. Many
prostitutes in massage parlours are heavily addicted to drugs:
and need cash to satisfy this need. Such addicted prostitutes will
often have unprotected sex: if the price is right, or if desperation
day has arrived. The NHS, the government, is losing 330 Million
pounds per year through prostitution spreading disease. Also, the
government is probably losing a billion pounds a year in lost tax
revenue.
Legalised prostitution in Germany, The Netherlands, Australia, has not
worked. Legalising street prostitution has moralised it in the minds of
a greater percentage of the public in these countries: and street
prostitution has increased in these countries together with
unlawfulness. It is now considered vogue in the UK by many people
to use a brothel: or sleep with a prostitute. The Ipswich
prostitute murders, Government published figures estimate the police
investigation cost 19 million pounds, if the court case costs and the
imprisonment of the murderer is 6 million: that's another 25 million
down the drain. However, the real cost is five dead young women.
We muddle along, the British do it best, Ipswich is being used as a

Such a spotlessly clean properly run brothel as above provides social services that are little known by the public. Some men that have wives that have died just come in and pay for a cuddle, and someone to talk to. These men do not want sex. Some very lonely men with mental problems want the same service. The girls are sympathetic and help where they can.
Many men are hurt by a poor relationship, and do not want a further emotional relationship, so they use a prostitute to satisfy their sexual desire. More young men that are having a good social life with friends in leisure time and at work do not want to be tied to a girlfriend: so they use a regular prostitute for sex. Many businessmen again do not want an emotional relationship: and they use prostitutes.
We are going through the fastest adaptation that a society has ever gone through, we may in the future see as part of a rapists rehabilitation program, see a scenario where the rapist is ordered to use a prostitute monthly in a properly run state controlled brothel to control his sexual desire: to stop further rape. This may prove to be more cost effective, with less strain on government resources: than locking him up.
How do you stop street prostitution?

The reasons for stopping street prostitution are street prostitutes get killed, they get abused, many transmit serious disease, most are drug addicts. Many street prostitutes have pimps that are violent and drugs dealers. Many pimps are connected to all sorts of serious crime: including gun crime. No or very little tax is paid by these people.
How do you eliminate street prostitution?
This is easy.
Currently, cars are seized for car tax evasion. Most street prostitution is linked to serious crime: and tax evasion. The punter also has his driving license revoked for 5 years: with a driving ability re:test. If the vehicle is a scrap value car, then scrap it, and fine the punter one thousand pounds to cover costs.
Legalise or provide brothels, these have to be licensed, the sex workers have to be individually DNA tested, licensed and blood tested for drugs and diseases every three months. The licenses can be revoked 'with penalty' in fault of a list of conditions in the license contract: that have to be strictly adhered to. Sex workers in brothels must be interviewed every three months away from the brothel to see if they are cared for and properly looked after: equal to other modern business environments.

Currently, such brothels as highlighted on this site are illegal in the U.K. There are to the Authors knowledge six such brothels operating in Ipswich Suffolk. The police know where they all are, some police officers use these brothels. The local newspaper shares such knowledge and accepts advertising revenue to support these brothels. The author agrees with this interim practise to reduce street prostitution.
There may be different practise that the author is going to propose to the government, this proposal will be published on this site. Prostitution and all crime cannot be eradicated until such time every person is monitored by electronic monitoring equipment placed in their bodies that logs bodily functions and people whereabouts.
Or, we move to a cashless society, however, no doubt the banks will then charge exorbitant account fees increasing poverty. The rich are getting richer, the poor, poorer, this will increase prostitution unless affective means are found to stop this happening.
